An Otolaryngologist, more commonly known as an ENT or Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon, is a doctor who specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and care of conditions of the ear, nose and throat. In practice, this tends to encompass conditions involving most parts of the head and neck, excluding the brain, eyes and teeth.

Yes, as per Medicare regulations, you will need a referral from your GP, or another Specialist, to be able to claim you Medicare rebate following a review by Dr Titoria. Generally speaking, GP referrals are valid for 12-months and Specialist referrals are valid for 3-months.

All 'in-person' appointments are 15-minutes long. Telehealth appointments are 10-minutes long.

The fees for the consultation will vary depending on whether you appointment is that of a new patient or a follow-up. In addition, other fees may be charged depending on whether particular diagnostic procedures, such as microsuction clearance of the ears, are required. These fees will be discussed with you at the time of booking your appointment. Please note that all fees must be paid in full at the time of the appointment.

The 'gap' fee is the fee charged by Dr Titoria on top of whatever Medicare and Private Health Insurance rebate a patient may be entitled to. This gap may generally be payable in both outpatient (clinic) and inpatient (hospital) settings. The amount of the gap varies depending on a variety of factors, including the type of appointment a patient has and which private health fund thay are members of. This fee will be discussed with patients fully, prior to any treatment commitments being made.

Dr Titoria takes a great deal of pride in his work and feels that the operative rates he charges value this appropriately and fairly. On occasion, Dr Titoria may accept the 'Known / No gap' rates offered by some health funds. This decision is based on the nature and complexity or the planned procedure.

Dr Titoria holds a visiting consultant position at Gold Coast University Hospital. Please note that privately consulted patients can not be added directly to the waiting list for an operation on the public system and must be seen in the public clinic prior to any booking. Please also be aware that when being operated on in the public system, it is not possible for patients to pick a surgeon of their choice. On the private system, Dr Titoria is happy to see both insured and self-funded patients.
